Pick a giveaway winner from a post

Paste a public X post. We collect everyone who reposted, replied, or quoted it, remove duplicates, and draw random winners. Add a seed and anyone can re-run the same draw and get the same result — which is the only way to prove you did not rig it.

How people entered

Publish the seed with your results and anyone can re-run the same draw and get the same winners. Leave it blank for a one-off pick.

How to make the draw defensible

  1. State the entry rule in the post itself, before anyone enters. Changing it afterwards is what makes an honest giveaway look crooked.
  2. Pick a seed you could not have known in advance — the closing date, the post id, anything fixed before you saw who entered.
  3. Publish the seed, the pool size, and the winners together. That is the whole proof.

Questions

Do I need an account?
No. The picker is free and runs a limited number of draws per visitor each hour. An API key removes the limit and lets you call the same endpoint yourself.
Can it pick from people who liked the post?
No, and neither can anything else. X exposes the number of likes on a post but not who left them, so any tool claiming to draw from likers is inventing the list. Use reposts, replies, or quotes as your entry condition.
What does the seed do?
It makes the draw reproducible. The same pool and the same seed always produce the same winners, so if you publish your seed alongside the result, entrants can re-run the draw and confirm you did not pick favourites.
Why is the pool smaller than the repost count on the post?
Suspended, deleted, protected, and blocked accounts drop out between the counter and the list, and the free picker reads a limited number of pages. Say so when you publish results — the gap is normal and explaining it up front avoids accusations later.
Are entries deduplicated?
Yes. Someone who reposted and replied counts once. Deduplication is on the numeric account id, not the handle, so a rename does not create a second entry.

Doing this yourself

The picker is one call to GET /v1/tweet/:id/engagers on the Probe Uranus API, with winners and seed set. With a key you get the full entrant pool rather than just the winners, deeper pagination, and no hourly limit. See the docs or pricing.
